Learn the Haka dance and all about Maori culture: Great North Museum: Hancock

This Event has passed
We are offering our visitors a totally unique opportunity to learn the famous 'Haka' Maori war dance, and see traditional Maori songs and dances performed. You can learn how to perform the Haka - the famous traditional ancestral war cry, dance or challenge from the indigenous Maori people of New Zealand made famous by the New Zealand rugby team's prematch displays. The museum's curators will also be on hand with special Maori objects for handling and questions, from the World Culture collections. There will also be Poi dancing displays and traditional Maori songs and dance.
