The Grade I-listed Tyne Theatre & Opera House dates back to 1867 when it was founded by Blaydon-born industrialist and politician Joseph Cowen who envisioned the venue as "a theatre for everyone."
Tyne Theatre & Opera House stays true to Cowen's vision more than 150 years later, offering a varied programme of events with something to suit everybody - be it musicals and ballet or stand-up comedy and live music.
Check out the theatre's packed programme of events here, or take a guided behind-the-scenes tour to learn all about its rich history - from its lavish auditorium and understage machinery to its resident ghosts.
