What's New at Eldon Square?

Last updated:

As Newcastle’s premier shopping destination, Eldon Square is always evolving. Millions of shoppers grab treats and bargains at the dizzying array of outlets, and over the last four months there’s been a whole host of newbies making the centre their home. We find out a bit more about Eldon Square’s new arrivals...

There’s good news for those of us that like to keep up with current fashions, as popular Spanish brand Mango have opened a giant store in Eldon Square. The retailer excels in fantastically made and well cut fashion, with a particular flair for Mediterranean style, and their smart and trendsetting pieces ensure they’re a cut above.

Also on a fashion tip, lingerie shop Bravissimo have relocated from Eldon Garden into the centre proper, where their “canny lasses” are on hand to help with any lingerie-related query you have – from bra fittings to year-round swimwear. They also have a great range of nightwear and cater for any and every size imaginable.

If you’re looking for the latest in footwear, Kick Game brings streetwear and sneaker heaven to Eldon Square. Spread over two floors, they sell exclusive and premium brands from the likes of Yeezy and Jordan and they’ve got their finger on the pulse when it comes to A-list celebs, so keep an eye out for in-store appearances from musicians, celebrities and sports stars too.

There’s more sporty goodness at Sports Traider, a charity which seeks to improve the lives of young people in Newcastle by offering them employment and encourage participation in sports. In their store you’ll find all manner of sports kit and equipment, from leggings to running tops and everything in between.

Eldon Square is about much more than fashion though: it’s also a great place to go for those little jobs that need sorting. Newly opened Pocket Geek will help you out with any tech-related issue you may have, repairing all kinds of devices from Apple, Samsung, Google, LG and more – if your screen’s got a crack, your battery’s underperforming or you need an affordable new device, their speedy service will be a godsend!

No matter the time of year, it always pays to stay organised, and Calendar Club can make sure you’re at the top of your game; their new store stocks a whopping 6,500 products – from calendars and planners to diaries, stationery and books.

If all that shopping has made you hungry, look no further than Eldon Square’s newest restaurant - the all-you-can-eat global buffet, Cosmo. The smartly designed eatery specialises in over 100 dishes which span a dizzying array of options from carvery to pizza, superbly spiced South-East Asian favourites, Chinese delights, and even Japanese teppanyaki which the chef will cook right in front of you! Don’t forget they serve decadent desserts and a cracking cocktail menu too.

Eldon Square’s very own pop-up shop supports regional independent retailers by giving them a high-profile spot in the popular shopping centre. Located next to Pandora, make sure you swing by each time you visit as there’s always someone new to check out. Recent pop-ups have included the likes of streetwear brand D Rock, Sophie Photography, Loose Threads Vintage and Mayfli.

And that’s not all! Eldon Square have partnered with renowned local LEGO architect Brick This (aka Steve Mayes) to offer a series of free workshops in how to build a LEGO heart in support of the pioneering work of the Freeman Hospital, supported by Newcastle Hospitals Charity. Taking place on Tuesday 21st February from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm, the workshops will be located in the upper level of Grey’s Quarter opposite Chatime, where 25 LEGO hearts will be available to build and take home, plus children can learn from Steve’s considerable LEGO-based wisdom! Visitors will also be able to see a special installation at Eldon Square created by Steve to highlight Organ Donor Awareness Day, located at St Andrew’s Way near the customer service desk from Tuesday 14th-Tuesday 21st February.

Add to all this a great events programme, recently extended opening hours (Monday-Wednesday & Friday & Saturday 9am-7pm, Thursday 9am-8pm, Sunday 11am-5pm) and you’ve got even more reasons to visit Eldon Square to get your shopping fix!
