Everything You Need to Know About… Central Park Euro 2024 Fan Zone
All the info you need to enjoy Euro 2024 in the Times Square fan zone
For football fans, the European Cup is one of the most exciting events in the sport’s calendar, a month of top level European teams battling it out for the coveted title.
There's no better place in the city to catch all the action with fellow fans than the Central Park Euro 2024 Fan Zone at Newcastle's Times Square. Here's everything you need to know to make the most out of the Fan Zone, from ticket prices to age requirements.
What is the Central Park Euro 2024 Fan Zone?
The Central Park Euro 2024 Fan Zone is a month-long pop-up venue put in place to give football fans in the city a great place to congregate with other fans, watch the match on a huge new LED screen, soak up the atmosphere and have a few drinks. It’s a collaboration between regular Newcastle pop-up beer garden Central Park – with its trademark container bars - and original energy drinks brand Lucozade, who are sponsoring the zone this year. Starting with the opening game between Scotland and Germany, they’ll be showing every game through to the final.
Where and when is it happening?
The Fan Zone is in the Central Park beer garden in the middle of Times Square, outside Life Science Centre. The first game on 14th June (between Scotland and Germany) kicks off at 8pm, with the Fan Zone opening at 6pm. For the rest of the group, knock-out and quarter-final stages (until 6th July) there’ll be between one and three matches per day (at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm) with the zone open an hour or two before kick-off (you can check the schedule here). The semi-finals and final take place on 9th, 10th and 14th July with one match per day.
Is it family-friendly?
Up to a point. England games are for fans aged 18 and above only, but other matches welcome under-18s as long as they’re accompanied by an adult. A Challenge 25 policy will be in operation at the bars.
Will there be food and drink?
As well as Central Park’s renowned container bars (boasting 50 metres of bar service area!) selling beer, cider, spirits and soft drinks, there’ll be plenty of food provided by some of the city’s favourite street food traders.
What else is happening?
There’s lots of entertainment planned before, during and after the games: Sky Sports presenter Keith Downie will be hosting the England games, with interviews with former England players, live music and DJs. For the non-England games, there’ll be football anthem singalongs for everyone to join in.
How much are tickets?
Tickets for the non-England games are free, while the England games are ticketed. Tickets cost £7.50 for each match, but a group game pass will get you into all three England group stage games for £15 and include early access. Front-of-screen table ticket packages are available too, as are private hire balconies (email the organisers for details on the latter).
How do I book tickets?
Information and tickets for individual matches and other ticketing options are all available from the Fan Zone website.
