In a stellar first month of trading, Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana has welcomed nearly 9,000 guests to enjoy Rudy’s authentic Neapolitan pizza at its brand new Newcastle pizzeria.
Having launched in mid-December with an enticing 3,000 free pizza giveaway, the restaurant has been met with a brilliant reception from visitors and locals, adding to Rudy’s existing popularity across neighbouring restaurants in Durham, Sheffield and Manchester.
Located on Grey Street, the new pizzeria showcases Rudy’s effortlessly attentive hospitality and minimalist signature style, in a spacious 2,500 square-foot unit with approximately 100 covers for dining.
Commenting on the Newcastle restaurant’s successful launch, Neal Bates of Rudy’s Pizza, said: “We’re thrilled to have been met with such a warm welcome to Newcastle. We were super excited to bring our traditional Neapolitan pizza to ‘the toon’ and we’re so pleased to have been made to feel at home so quickly, especially during the busy festive period.
“From date nights for Valentine’s Day to bank holidays over Easter and everything in between, we look forward to welcoming more of the Newcastle community to our restaurant, and giving them the Rudy’s treatment our fans know and love.”
Following a recent visit, popular Newcastle food influencer Ania Askwith, aka Magpie and Mash commented: “Rudy’s is a fresh addition to Newcastle and its casual yet stylish setting pairs perfectly with the incredible, hearty food. Now, having Rudy’s right on our doorstep feels like a real treat for the city!”
Born out of passion for pizza, Rudy’s follows the authentic Neapolitan tradition of pizza-making, renowned for its consistency and quality. The relaxed yet atmospheric dining concept serves classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese – all originating from Naples, the birthplace of pizza - alongside paying homage to famous pizzerias around the globe with rotating specials.
Rudy’s dough is made fresh each day by their in-house pizzaioli, using Caputo ‘00’ flour, and double-fermented for 24 hours, before being topped with the highest-quality, authentic ingredients. This includes San Marzano tomatoes grown on fields at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, and traditional Fior di Latte mozzarella. Staying true to the traditions of Naples, each pizza is cooked for around 60 seconds at over 400°C – resulting in a soft and light pizza with an airy and raised ‘cornicione’ crust.
Further honouring its Neapolitan roots, Rudy’s Newcastle also hosts a well-stocked bar serving iconic Italian spritzes, crisp Italian Poretti lager, and classic stirred-cocktails.
