Rhys Darby: The Legend Returns for Another Triumphant UK Tour
Kiwi comedian Rhys Darby comes to the UK this summer, stopping off at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House on Friday 27th June 2025 for Rhys Darby: The Legend Returns.
In this brand-new show, Rhys questions whether a dad with slightly tight jeans can stay relevant in a world full of AI. Perhaps human silliness is just what we all need right now, because the robots certainly can’t beat the charm of this New Zealand comedian.
Rhys has been on the UK comedy circuit for over 20 years, performing at the 2002 Edinburgh Fringe in his early career. Since then, Darby has had an expansive career, appearing in the Flight of the Conchords BBC radio series, impressing Hollywood in Yes Man (2008), What We Do In The Shadows (2014), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and more. Most recently, he received critical acclaim for his role in the HBO Max series Our Flag Means Death in 2022.
Jonathan Higgins, CEO of the Tyne Theatre & Opera House states, “We’re delighted to have Rhys Darby perform this summer. Our 2025 programme is fresh and exciting, and we can’t wait to see what he does on our historic stage!”
