North East Pays Tribute to Musical Legends

The opportunity to hear the hits of some of the greatest music stars of the past and present is on offer on this first May Bank Holiday, at the region’s biggest tribute festival.

Organisers have brought together a packed programme featuring some of the UK’s most authentic and exciting tribute acts, with a sizzling two day event on 3 and 4 May at Newcastle’s Times Square.

The Great British Tribute Fest will recreate the very best festival experience, with huge bars, street food, merch stalls and even VIP areas – and memorable music.

The event kicks off at noon on 3 May with tributes to the very best rock and roll acts of all time, including The Beatles performed by Beatlemania, Killers tribute band The Runaway Killers and Sam Offender, well known for his tribute to homegrown hero, Sam Fender.

The Beautiful Couch will play the greatest hits of The Beautiful South, Fu Fighters will bring the music of the Foo Fighters to the stage, while We Are Champion will perform the songs of arguably the best band of all time – Queen.

On day two the music takes an indie twist, with Gerry Cinnamon tribute, Gerry Cinna-man Experience and The Total Stone Rose giving their take on The Stone Roses.

Gerry Cinnamon himself plays to packed venues across the UK, so fans will be able to enjoy all of his music, courtesy of this top tribute act.

Anyone who wasn’t able to – or couldn’t afford to – get tickets for the Oasis reunion tour can still enjoy their music, courtesy of Oaysis, while the Arctic Monkeyz will bring to life all the songs of The Arctic Monkeys.

Completing the line-up are The James Experience, Frankly the Smiths and Kazabian.

The event runs from noon until 11pm each day, with earlybird tickets priced at £12.50 plus a booking fee for a one day ticket and whole weekend tickets available from £20 plus a booking fee.

Mike Hesketh of organisers EVNT Inspirations said it would be an amazing bank holiday experience.

We have got together the UK’s top tribute performers who in many cases are hard to differentiate from the real thing,” Mike said.

This will be a fantastic weekend with something for absolutely everybody.”
