New ‘Kids Go Free’ Offer Goes Live for the Acclaimed Northern Lights Trail, Newcastle

For parents who like to bag a great bargain, Northern Lights Newcastle has launched a special treat to make preparations easier and more affordable this year.

As Newcastle’s number one Christmas light trail, Northern Lights Newcastle is introducing a ‘Kids Go Free’ summer holiday promotion, giving families the chance to secure their magical festive experience at a huge discount, by booking this August with up to 2 x free kids tickets [RRP from £13.95] per booking.

This offer is the perfect opportunity for budget-savvy families to get organised and book early, ensuring you don’t miss out on this enchanting event.

With more than 100,000 tickets sold last year, the spectacular Northern Lights trail returns to Leazes Park this November, showcasing a completely reimagined route with new installations created by world-class artists and designers.

To make the magic of Christmas accessible to even more families, the ‘Kids Go Free’ scheme is open for a limited period this summer, giving two free children’s tickets for families attending weekday slots (Monday to Thursday) when purchasing an adult ticket.

Starting this Thursday at 10am (August 8th), for a limited time only, families can book an adult ticket for the 2024 trail and apply for two free kids tickets using the code LIGHTSKIDS at checkout.

Roxy Robinson, Creative Director at From the Fields, the organisers behind Northern Lights, told us about the importance of bringing an offer like this to the North East: "Many of us who work behind the scenes to bring Northern Lights Newcastle to life have young families of our own, and understand how challenging it can be to find fun and engaging activities for the kids. Our hope is that by introducing this ‘Kids Go Free’ offer, we can help take some of the stress away from planning for the festive season while also making it more affordable for families to experience the magic of Christmas with us.”

"We are incredibly excited to bring a fresh lineup of enchanting sights and sounds to Newcastle this year and want to ensure that as many families as possible get to enjoy the world-class installations we have on offer. It's important to us that Northern Lights Newcastle is accessible to everyone, and this offer is a fantastic way to achieve that.

"We’ve been working harder than ever to bring the people of the North East and the surrounding areas a truly memorable and magical experience. We can’t wait to open the doors on our 2024 event and share the amazing light installations with everyone."

The breathtaking light trail in Leazes Park includes original audio compositions, dynamic choreography, and cutting-edge designs to create a 90-minute magical experience for the whole family to enjoy. The fully accessible, mile-long route will light up the park from November 22nd to December 31st, featuring a larger Christmas Village brimming with delicious festive food and drinks from local artisans.

With over 100,000 visitors attending the first year of Northern Lights, organisers are also introducing more tickets for peak times to help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to experience the amazing light trail and enjoy the festive magic inside.

Northern Lights Newcastle’s ‘Kids Go Free’ offer will be made available for a limited time only to anyone buying a full-price adult ticket from Thursday 8th August for a limited time this summer. Those using the code LIGHTSKIDS at the checkout will be given the option to purchase two kids’ tickets free of charge. Visitors entering on a child ticket must be aged 16 or under and codes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.
