Meet SpongeBob SquarePants at Life Science Centre

The world’s most famous sponge is coming to Life Science Centre on Wednesday 8 April 2015 to celebrate the launch of ‘SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D, The Great Jelly Rescue’ which is now showing on the Centre’s 4D Motion Ride*.
On Wednesday 8 April, for one day only, SpongeBob SquarePants will be making appearances at intervals throughout the day with opportunities for visitors to take photographs.
SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D, The Great Jelly Rescue’ is showing on Life’s 4D Motion Ride until 2 October. Riders will be taken on a on a wildly hilarious 4-D adventure with SpongeBob and friends as they careen through Bikini Bottom, run afoul of the Flying Dutchman and face off against the villainous Plankton while on a mission to rescue the jellyfish of Jellyfish Fields!
Ian Simmons, Director of Science Communication at Life said: “Our Motion Ride is a hugely popular experience among visitors and this new film will not disappoint – it’s packed full of thrills and adventure!”
He added: “We’re delighted that SpongeBob can join us for the day and meet our visitors.”
Other activities at Life over the Easter holiday period (3 April – 18 April) include: the NEW Experiment Zone, where visitors can step into the shoes of real scientists and carry out experiments including DNA extraction. The wonders of the night sky can be explored in Britain’s most popular planetarium and visitors can learn about the wonder of stem cells in the Super Cells: The Power of the Cell exhibition.
From Tuesday 7 - Sunday 19 April, The Big Drop sessions let visitors build flying objects and test how they drop to the floor from the ceiling – will they plunge, flutter or float?
SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D, The Great Jelly Rescue’ will run until 2 October 2015. Entry to the 4D Motion Ride is included in Life’s admission cost, see life.org.uk opening times.

*Riders must be a minimum of 1.2m in height to ride the 4D Motion Ride.
