Jungle Jack’s Soft Play and Vertigo Adventure Climbing opens at Eldon Leisure

Following the recent opening of the new Eldon Bowl tenpin bowling and shiny new fitness gym at Eldon Leisure, in Eldon Square, the centre will unveil a new soft play area for under eights and Vertigo climbing for all ages on Saturday 20th June. The new facilities are part of an extensive £3 million development at the centre by North Country Leisure, who took over management of the centre in July 2014. Jungle Jack’s Adventure Soft Play is open every day between 9am and 6pm and is available to hire for parties. Children can run wild in the ball pool, crawl through tunnels and whizz down the giant slide, plus there’s a separate area for toddlers. Adult and Toddlers sessions take place on weekday mornings during term time. There is a new café offering hot and cold drinks, snacks and meals and is a comfortable and modern area for parents to relax whilst the children play. Vertigo Adventure Climbing features 19 climbing towers of different design and difficulty, which can be enjoyed by people of all ages from four years upwards. No experience is required to use Vertigo, which is great for parties, school groups, corporate events or as a family trip out. Vertigo is open every day with sessions lasting 90 minutes, inclusive of briefing and harnesses being fitted. Roger Tames, Chair of NCL Newcastle Board says, “I think the public are in for a pleasant surprise when they venture upstairs to the new Eldon Leisure - in fact, more like a shock! Eldon Bowl looks brilliant - bright, sharp and just the place any modern family would love to spend a few hours. The new gym is a real eye catcher as well. It’s massive but without feeling vast and impersonal. The light and airy atmosphere is a great training environment. When Vertigo and Jungle Jack’s open their doors we really will have something for all ages. With the new phase of the redevelopment of Eldon Square starting in the near future, the centre of Newcastle is on the brink of massive change. Eldon Leisure is already providing a real taste of the future as we see what we’re getting for a really significant investment.” For the latest information on opening times and booking information, visit the NCL website www.northcountryleisure.org.uk/newcastle, or Eldon Leisure Facebook and Twitter pages
