Irish Eyes Will Be Smiling As Paddy Fest Returns to Newcastle

Partygoers, sports fans and anyone who just enjoys the craic will have the luck of the Irish, as Newcastle celebrates St Patrick’s Day with one of the biggest festivals in the world.

From 13 to 17 March the city’s Times Square will be the focal point for the Paddy Fest Weekender 2025; a five-day festival centred around the Emerald Isle – and early bird tickets are now on sale.

Thousands are expected to turn up to the giant, 2000 person Paddy Fest tent to enjoy everything from pro-am darts, the EFL Cup Final and the rugby Six Nations to a backdrop of live Irish music, table dancing and singalongs.

And the celebrations will come to a head with a giant party on St Patrick’s day itself and everything from Guinness and Irish dancing to live music and leprechauns.

First up to the oche is Let’s Play Darts XL on Thursday 13 March, when 30 pro-am players will battle it out, live, during a night of Irish music and dancing, with a rodeo bull, confetti blasts and Paddy’s Day themed décor and giveaways

There will also be dance-offs, stage games and – with fancy dress a must for all who attend - big prizes for the best outfit.

On Super Saturday, 17 March – the final day of the Six Nations tournament - rugby will replace darts in the tent from midday to 11pm, with two giant screens showing the Italy v Ireland game, followed by the Wales v England match and, later, France v Scotland.

Football takes centre stage on Sunday 16 March when fans of the beautiful game can watch the EFL Cup Final in Paddy Fest’s heated marquee with a massive 30ft bar serving food and drink and live djs playing into the evening.

And tickets for this event will be released on 5 February following Newcastle United FC’s final leg of the competition.

Then, on St Patrick’s Day itself - Monday 17 March – the Paddy Fest Weekender 2025 will take over Times Square with a massive celebration courtesy of party event organiser Tropiloco – with free tickets for Irish partygoers.

From 5pm to 11pm there will be an unlimited amount of Guinness, live buskers and bands, competitive stage games a DJ singalong jukebox …and leprechauns running wild throughout the tent.

There will also be huge cash and festival prizes in the run up to the event and all Paddy Fest Weekender 2025 ticket holders are automatically entered into a prize draw for free drinks all day.

Tickets for some events are now on sale with discounts for early bird bookers and Nigel Holliday, one of the directors of Evnt Inspirations, which is delivering PaddyFest Weekender 2025, said: “It’s our seventh year and it’s going to be our best yet.

We’ve got a trio of events for sports fans and the whole event will wrap up on St Patrick’s day with the best craic you can have in 11 hours and an action-packed programme of entertainment.

Expect plenty of Sweet Carolines, roaring 180s, and more laughs than you can handle.”
