The Story Behind the Print
Cath Kidston’s Brighten Up print is fast becoming a favourite from the new Spring Summer collection. The initial thought came from brightening up people’s day (as does everything Cath Kidston do). A little play on words resulted in ‘Brighton Up Your Day’, and brought the English seaside town of Brighton into the mix. After inspiration from a beautiful piece of 1950’s fabric and a research trip to the seaside to sketch landmarks like the Brighton Pier and Royal Pavillion, the cheerful, picture postcard style print was created.

Brighten Up Your Town – Competition
To celebrate the launch of the Brighten Up print and the idea of tailoring prints and designs to towns with a local store, Cath Kidston have launched their ‘Brighten Up Your Town’ competition. The winning nomination will receive a bespoke, handmade piece of Cath Kidston wall art featuring the favourite landmarks of the winning nominated town. Only two limited edition pieces will be produced, one for the winner and one for their chosen store.
Entries are made up of up to 300 words on why you think Newcastle and our Cath Kidston store deserves to win and up to 10 photographs of your favourite features of the city. Get creative, make sure you mention all the hidden gems of the city not just the obvious landmarks!
