24 Doors of Christmas
NE1’s 24 Doors of Christmas turns Newcastle into a giant advent calendar, with venues across the city centre opening their doors to the public with free guided tours.
Each day in December during the lead-up to Christmas, NE1 partners up with one of Newcastle’s most historical, unique or iconic locales to offer culture vultures a festive treat with exclusive access and free behind-the-scenes tours revealing their inner workings and fascinating histories.
Since the inception of 24 Doors of Christmas, some of the most interesting places in the city centre have taken part in the annual event from historic local landmarks like Newcastle Castle, Grey’s Monument and the Guildhall to cultural venues like the Theatre Royal, Great North Museum: Hancock and Tyneside Cinema.
Part of a packed programme of events designed to fill the city with festive cheer, 24 Doors of Christmas offers a rare opportunity to explore Newcastle’s most famous spaces like never before. It’s a must-do in the city’s festive calendar and, best of all, it’s completely free to take part in.
