The Town Moor is one of the unique features of Newcastle, a mere 400 hectares to provide a green heart to the city. Bigger than the likes of Hyde Park in London and Central Park in New York, it is open to all members of the public.
The Town Moor can be accessed from the Great North Road, Claremont Road and Exhibition Park. It is most famous for holding the Hoppings in the month of June. This is said to be the biggest travelling fair in Europe and a rich part of Newcastle's history with their first encounter over a century ago.
