Dating back to the 12th century, St Andrew's Church is said to be the oldest church in Newcastle.
Its peaceful, tree-shrouded churchyard is the final resting place of local luminaries including portrait painter William Bell and composer Charles Avison and its interior features a stunning arched nave and grand choir stalls crafted by local artist Ralph Hedley topped by a late 19th century organ.
Alongside regular prayer and services, St Andrew's Church is also open for weddings, baptisms and confirmations.
