A hub for makers, creators and thinkers for over 250 years, High Bridge Works is an important part of both Newcastle's past and present.
Built in 1903, the Grade II-listed building sits on a space formerly occupied by engineer Henry Watson's original 18th century High Bridge Works and was formerly the home of innovative printwork company Ward's Printers.
Today, High Bridge Works has reinvented itself as a unique cultural hub offering studio spaces for artists, makers and creative micro-businesses. Its top floor houses a gallery - Newcastle Contemporary Art - formed by studio occupants that hosts exciting and though-provoking exhibitions.
