The famous City Tavern building, established in 1923, is one of Newcastle's most famous landmarks with its iconic Tudor facade.
Over the years it has undergone several uses and style changes, until spring 2014 when it was brought back to the original City Tavern and transformed into one of the city's most authentic cask ale house, with truly great home-cooked food from their brigade of talented chefs. Their ethos is simple: meticulous attention to quality & detail everywhere and in everything.
The dog-friendly pub boasts a cosy and welcoming vibe and houses quirky spaces like Rupert's - the world's smallest bar, available for private hire - and Cinema Paradiso, an alleyway-turned-outdoor cinema that shows modern and cult classics.
Find them on Northumberland Road (between Santander and Primark), just off Northumberland Street.
