What's On The Menu? NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week Classics
Foodies across the North East will be thrilled to know that it’s that time of year again… Newcastle NE1 Restaurant Week returns!
This wonderful week-long event is a celebration of our city’s finest eateries, and a whole host of cafes, restaurants and bars have got involved this year, ready to wow you with gastronomical goodness. There’s plenty of newbies on the scene, but let’s take a look at where Restaurant Week's original key players are now. (Warning: you’ll want to sample them all!)
AS YOU LIKE IT
A gem on the outskirts of the city, As You Like It has been satisfying customers for years. A well-established bar and restaurant, its drinks are as good as its food, but it’s the latter that’s stealing the spotlight this Restaurant Week. Dip into a menu of delicacies with an amazing deal of two courses for just a tenner, or three for £15. We don’t just like it, we love it.

BLACKFRIARS
Blackfriars has long been a giant on NE1's foodie scene, hosting stunning meals in an equally beautiful setting since 2001. Over a decade later, it’s still coming up with the goods. This year’s Restaurant Week deals are unmissable, with a laid back three-course lunch for just £15, or the drama of a two-course evening meal for the same price. Sign us up!

21
One of Newcastle’s most well thought of restaurants, it’s no surprise that 21 was one of the original bunch of participants in Restaurant Week. The menu of simple yet delicious bites is better than ever. During Restaurant Week you'll be able to book in for a two course dinner for £15. It would be a crime to miss out on an evening at this NE1 gem.

CAFFÉ VIVO
Caffé Vivo is pure fine dining with no pretence. A cosy and casual nook to enjoy drinks and meals, it’s still going from strength to strength years after the region’s first Restaurant Week. Enjoy some Bellissima Italian cooking for just £10 or £15 for either two or three courses – perfect for a little treat or a full blown feast.

PICCOLINO
It’s fair to say we can’t get enough of Italian food, so it’s a good job our city is full of places to grab pizza and pasta! Piccolino is a total gem, serving up mouthwatering grub in Trinity Gardens. With three courses for just £15, it’s a bargain you must book in for during Restaurant Week. Why not browse the online menu and decide what you’re having? We know we will be!

THE SILK ROOM
Taste test the best of The Silk Room’s luxurious cuisine during Restaurant Week this August. The spot has risen to fame as a favourite celebrity and sports personality hangout, and it’s not hard to see why. With decadent touches such as lobster and plenty of champagne and cocktails flowing, we’re loving it. The motto over at The Silk Room is definitely more is more, but you can get it for less throughout Restaurant Week - all for just £15 for two fabulous courses.
