Where to Buy the Best Christmas Jumpers in Newcastle
Taking part in Christmas Jumper Day this year? Here’s our top picks for where to shop for the snazziest Christmas jumpers in the Toon
Since it began back in 2012, Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day has raised over £30 million for children in the UK and around the world thanks to the schools, youth groups and workplaces that all take part by donning a Christmas jumper for the day.
This year, with Shaun the Sheep himself crowned the charity’s new ‘Head of Wool’, Christmas Jumper Day falls on Thursday 12th December. So if you want to take part this year, and you’re after a new festive fit, then here’s our round-up of where to buy the best Christmas jumpers in Newcastle!
Next, Eldon Square
Next has no shortage of Christmas jumpers for the whole family – and that includes your canine companions too! From tinsel bows to Hamish the Highland Cow, everyone can be matching for Christmas Jumper Day. But of course, there’s loads of other options too, including a certain “Howdy Holidays” pun if you’re not ready to put summer’s cowboy boots away just yet.
The White Company, Monument Mall
If you’re looking for luxury, The White Company is an absolute go-to! Their designs lean on the more traditional side (think snowflakes and Fair Isle patterns), but there’s fun character designs for the little ones to wear too.
New Look, Eldon Square
Jam-packed with glittery designs and colourful patterns, New Look has plenty of options for both men and women to pick from. Prefer something more low-key? There’s sequin-sleeve knit tops that’ll do the trick, and even some festive tees if you’d prefer.
Primark, Northumberland Street
Whether you’d prefer to celebrate Grinch-mas, or prefer a classic Fair Isle crewneck, Primark has you covered this Christmas. There’s plenty of colourways from bold and bright to the classily neutral and of course everyone’s favourite festive fiend on a jumper too.
River Island, Eldon Square
Whether you prefer a “tinsel tonic” or “mistletoe martini”, River Island’s seasonal collection in collaboration with Nephthys Illustrated have just the right amount of festive fun, without being too cringe-worthy! They’re available in women’s and girl’s sizes too, if you want to match with your little one.
John Lewis, Eldon Square
Stocking a huge number of big-name brands, there’s pretty much no shortage of Christmas jumpers at John Lewis! There’s choices for women, men and kids too – so why not take the whole family along for everyone to find something?
M&S, Northumberland Street
From the comedic to the classic, M&S has pretty much everything you could imagine in the way of Christmas jumpers. Spencer Bear features on a fair few, while sparkly sequins decorate plenty of others if you want something that’ll stand out.
FatFace, Monument Mall
With options for everyone, FatFace is worth exploring whether you prefer the more traditional jumper, or fancy a Christmas cardigan or quarter-zip sweater!
TK Maxx, Northumberland Street
TK Maxx is a treasure trove of treats throughout the year – and even more so at Christmas! From reindeers and polar bears to novelty skiing Santas, there’s plenty to explore here. Plus, their stock changes pretty regularly, so if you don’t find something one week, it’ll be worth coming back for a second look.
Typo, Eldon Square
Okay, you might know Typo as that quirky stationary store tucked away in Eldon Square, but did you know they stock Christmas apparel too? Ideal if you’re looking for a more tongue-in-cheek Christmas jumper, there’s designs featuring The Grinch and The Simpsons, as well as some more cheeky slogans too.
NUFC, Strawberry Place
“Ho ho howay the lads” this Christmas with a jumper from Newcastle United Football Club’s official store! There’s options for the whole family (yes, that includes the dogs!) so everyone can feel suitably festive in the St. James’ stands this season.
So whether you opt for a cheesy slogan, or a classic knit, these Newcastle shops will have you feeling festive for Christmas Jumper Day 2024! To find out more about Christmas Jumper Day, including how to take part and donate, visit the Save the Children website.
