Where to Meet Santa in Newcastle this Christmas
Here comes Santa Claus right down the NE1 lane!
Halloween may not have even landed yet, but we’re so excited for the return of the big guy that we had to tell you about his appearances in Newcastle as soon as possible!
We've made our list (and checked it twice!) so here's everywhere you can meet Santa in the city this Christmas.
Santa’s Stories @ Old Eldon Square
New for 2024, NE1, Newcastle City Council and the team behind Moosenwirt are transforming Old Eldon Square into a winter wonderland, where little ones will be able to enjoy a story with Santa himself! In this immersive storytelling experience, kids will also have the opportunity to help Santa complete the nice list - and prove that they belong there! - with a fun questionnaire too.

NE1’s Search for Santa @ Newcastle City Centre
Children and their grown-ups are invited to go on an adventure through Newcastle city centre this November with NE1's annual Search for Santa! Follow the map and complete the clues with help from plenty of local businesses, before arriving at Newcastle Cathedral to meet the big man himself… and enjoy some delicious hot chocolate too, of course. Keep your eyes peeled for more information about Search for Santa in the coming weeks – just remember to stay on the nice list while you wait!

The Santa Experience @ Life Science Centre
Join Santa in the skies with this incredible experience at Life Science Centre! Take to the sleigh in the planetarium as Saint Nick flies around the world to deliver presents. Afterwards, children will visit Santa’s home for a meet-and-greet, as well as see some exciting demonstrations too! And with a whole feast of festive activities happening across the Life Science Centre too, it’s worth booking tickets ASAP!

The Polar Express Family Event @ Tyneside Cinema
Tyneside Cinema’s Polar Express family event starts way before the film screening! Children will receive a special golden ticket in the post – to be checked by the conductor of course! – while a tasty hot chocolate will be waiting for them to enjoy upon arrival at Tyneside. After the film, all children will have the chance to meet Santa himself, and receive their very own Christmas gift! Can anyone else hear that bell ringing…?

Breakfast with Santa @ Royal Station Hotel
Little (and tall!) elves alike will love having breakfast with Santa at the Royal Station Hotel! After enjoying a mouth-watering breakfast, children will receive a gift from the jolly man himself, rounding together this magical experience.

Family Afternoon Tea with Santa @ Vermont Hotel
Full of delicious delicacies and seasonal sweets, The Vermont Hotel’s family afternoon tea with Santa not only promises fabulously festive food – but a personal visit from Santa himself to your table. And if the kids are on the nice list? Then they’ll even receive a treat from Santa too!

Breakfast with Santa @ The Vermont Hotel
With entertainment from Santa’s elves and a visit from the big man himself, Breakfast with Santa at the Vermont Hotel promises to be a perfect festive morning! There’ll be a buffet on offer too, and maybe a treat if Santa’s checked his list twice in time…

Santa on the Roof @ Fenwick
Head up to Fenwick’s snowy rooftop this festive season to meet Santa and his elves! After paying a visit to Santa’s cabin, the whole family can head to Café Claus to enjoy some sweet treats – and even have the chance to take a picture in Santa’s sleigh!

Afternoon Tea with Santa @ Fenwick
Fenwick’s festive fun is beloved in Newcastle – and for good reason! So if you haven’t had the chance to enjoy it with the whole family yet, then why not make like Comet and Blitzen for their afternoon tea with Santa? As well as enjoying plenty of seasonal treats, there’ll also be an extra special picture moment, and early Christmas present too.

Santa @ Live Theatre
Throughout his tour of the Toon, Santa himself will be stopping at Live Theatre this December! Kids can expect to hear an interactive story from the big guy, as well as the opportunity to post a wish for Santa too.

Santa's Tea Party @ John Lewis
Santa's taking a break at John Lewis this Christmas - and everyone's invited to his Tea Party! You'll be able to join him for a special Christmas story, cocoa and a special gift.

Christmas Disco with Santa @ County Hotel
The whole family can get their dancing shoes on this December for a Christmas disco with Santa at The County Hotel! As well as a visit from the main man, you’ll all enjoy a delicious two-course meal before the entertainment begins.

Lunch with Santa @ Maldron Hotel
Take a visit to Santa's grotto inside Newcastle's very own Malron Hotel! Kids will be able to take home a gift from the big guy, while there'll also be plenty of entertainment, face painting and a tasty two-course Christmas lunch.
