Ringing in the New Year in Newcastle? Make sure to head to the Quayside to catch NE1 and Newcastle City Council’s spectacular free firework displays.
Back by popular demand, it’s the first time the Quayside has hosted firework displays since 2019 and with a show choreographed by award-winning North East-based Reaction Fireworks, it’s bound to be a special night.
Check out our handy guide to attending Newcastle’s NYE Fireworks below – from timings and viewing points to where to eat and where to park.

What else is happening on the Quayside on New Year’s Eve?
An hour before each firework display, walkabout performers will keep the fun going for visitors in the lead up to big event and several local food and drink traders will be dotted around the Quayside too.
Where can I get food and drink nearby?
Alongside those local traders, there are lots of great restaurants and bars on and near the Quayside to keep you fed and watered.
Hard Rock Café and Sambuca are great family-friendly options if heading out with little ones for the 6pm show while I Scream for Pizza and Greggs are perfect for a quick bite on the go.
For a fancy sit-down meal, why not pre-book a table at DOOD, Malmaison, Victors or Gusto? Gusto are even takeaway food and coffee for visitors who’d prefer to enjoy their tasty Italian food on the go instead.
Just drinks you’re after? The Quayside is your oyster with bars and pubs including The Head of Steam, Pitcher & Piano, The Broad Chare, Tiger Hornsby, The Hooch and Slug & Lettuce all just a stone’s throw from the action. Many serve food and bar nibbles too, just in case you do get peckish!
