From fine dining to bottomless brunches (and even a medieval banquet!), here’s where to head in the Toon for a New Year’s Eve meal.

Cote Brasserie, Grainger Street

If fine French cuisine gets your taste buds tingling, then Cote is the place to be on New Year’s Eve. Their four-course set menu kicks off with a complimentary glass of sparkling rosé followed a choice of sharing dishes, starters like brûlée camembert and smoked salmon rillettes and mains including duck a l’orange and butternut squash tarte tatin. And to finish? How do the likes of brandy butter madeleines and chocolate praline tart sound? Ooh la la!

Miller & Carter, Mosley Street 

See in the New Year with a delicious steak dinner at Miller & Carter’s gorgeous restaurant on Mosley Street. Dine from a tempting three-course set menu featuring starters like chargrilled king prawns, mains including ribeye steak and pan-roasted lamp rump and desserts like mango pavolva – all of that from just £66.95 per person too!

Party like it’s 1239 when Blackfriars’ legendary Medieval Banquet returns this New Year’s Eve. Take a seat in its candle-lit Banquet Hall and feast on pottage and pies, roasts, cheese and pudding washed down with flagons of ale and fine wine as minstrels keep you entertained. Medieval costume is welcome, naturally.

Gino D’Acampo Restaurant Quayside, Bridge Court

What could be better this New Year than fine Italian cuisine and stunning views of the Tyne? Riverside restaurant Gino D’Acampo has put together a carefully curated set menu to help you see in the New Year in style and they’re throwing in a glass of bubbly when the clock strikes twelve too!

The Maven @ The Vermont Hotel, Castle Garth

Extravagance is guaranteed at The Maven where you can enjoy a tempting three-course New Year’s Eve menu priced at just £44.95 per person. Book up to enjoy dishes like chicken liver parfait, roast salmon fillet and sticky toffee pudding. Tables are available from 7pm.

Beat the winter chill this New Year’s Eve with a Caribbean-inspired set menu at Turtle Bay. Get two courses for £26 or three for £31 and feast on fare like crispy chilli squid, jerk chicken and ginger pudding as Turtle Bay gets the good times rolling with its island party tunes. Throw in an extra £25 and you can get two hours of bottomless cocktails, beer or prosecco too!

Dobson & Parnell, Queen Street

Fine dining is afoot this New Year at Dobson & Parnell whose talented chefs have crafted a seven-course tasting menu priced at £79.50 per head. Fare like caramelised salsify, Yorkshire duck wellington and red wine poached pear are sure to delight foodies and there’s a vegetarian version too, plus the option to add wine pairings for an additional £50.

Twenty Twenty, Bigg Market

Casual dining more your thing? Book a table at Bigg Market hotspot Twenty Twenty and say hello to 2025 with a bottomless pizza brunch. Fill up with two of their tasty giant pizza slices and enjoy as much bubbly and beer as you can quaff in 90 minutes plus a glass of prosecco when the clock strikes midnight. It’s priced at £49.95 per person, but you can upgrade to bottomless cocktails for £69.95.

The Alchemist invites you to step into a ‘cosmic dimension’ this New Year’s Eve with their £55 per person three-course menu. Guests get a mini Cosmic Oyster cocktail on arrival before delicious dishes like salt and pepper squid, katsu curry and chocolate brownie – all that plus a glass of Moet for toasting and a live DJ all night.

Harry’s Bar, Grey Street

Harry’s Bar are ushering in 2025 in style with their Black & Gold Party and you’re all invited. Get three courses – think starters like crispy prawn tempura, mains like crispy belly pork and desserts including lemon cheesecake – and a glass of fizz all for just £45 per person.

Festive eats meet great beats with The Botanist’s Big NYE Bash. Enjoy a welcome cocktail on arrival, a three-course menu (which includes their famous hanging kebabs!) and a glass of bubbly at midnight as their house bands keep the good vibes vibing. It’ll only set you back £45 per person too!

Victors, Quayside

Diners who book a table at Victors are in for a luxurious New Year’s Eve thanks to their four-course feast. Sip on a glass of champagne on arrival and nibble on a selection of tempting appetisers to share before dining on sumptuous starters like seared scallops, mouthwatering mains like miso glazed salmon and decadent desserts including baked New York cheesecake. It’s priced at £95 per person but steak lovers can upgrade to a 1kg tomahawk ribeye to share for an additional £12.50 per guest.

Whether you’re in the mood for fine dining this New Year’s Eve or something a little livelier, there’s a restaurant for you in Newcastle so book up and say hello to 2025 with some delicious food and a drink or two!
