As our social calendars continue to fill up, we’ve got just the treat for summer soirées promising a whole host of foodie fun with creative cocktails and cool vibes to match.
Cue The Journey Cafe Bar - a creative casual dining spot at Higham House, just around the corner from the Laing Art Gallery.
Serving everything from breakfast and brunch, through to lunch and dinner with complimentary snacks, cocktails, wine and beer, as well as some of the finest locally-roasted coffee and ethically sourced tea, it ticks all the boxes for those looking for good times in the Toon.
Pair all of that with chilled tunes, regular kitchen takeovers from some of the best in the biz, and events space available for creative collaborations, and it’s a real celebration of all things delicious and entertaining.
The brains behind this foodie hub have got plenty up their sleeves when it comes to pop-up events, weekend specials and teaming up with other like minded veggie businesses.
The first of its creative collaborations, on Saturday 12th June, comes in the form of a kitchen takeover from the folk at CANTINA, serving vegan mexican food paired with bespoke cocktails and chilled vibes to match.
It’s the first of many colourful collaborations at The Journey, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store this summer and beyond.
As well as teaming up with some top suppliers and pop-ups, The Journey team will be serving some seriously delicious veggie and vegan delights out of their own kitchen between special events, with flavours inspired by all corners of the globe.
They’ve opened their doors this June, so make sure you pop in and see what all the fuss is about. We’ve certainly got 12th June in the diary, and look forward to more tasty collaborations in the weeks and months to come.
