There's been plenty of debates in the NE1 office about the best restaurants for Restaurant Week - so we caught up with Steven from @ne1forbait? to settle the matter once and for all!

Hello, fellow bait lovers! It’s @ne1forbait here, ready to dive into one of the most exciting events in our city's culinary calendar – NE1’s Newcastle Restaurant Week! From the 5th to the 11th of August, Newcastle’s finest eateries are rolling out the red carpet with special menus at unbeatable prices. Here’s my top picks to ensure you make the most of this delicious week.

Dakwala: An Indian Culinary Adventure

Dakwala is where authentic Indian flavors meet modern culinary flair. For just £15, you can indulge in a two-course feast that will transport your taste buds straight to Delhi.

Starter: A1 Quality Desi Tacos Kick things off with these mouthwatering tacos. They’re packed with vibrant spices and tender fillings, wrapped in soft, freshly made flatbreads. Every bite is an explosion of flavor that sets the stage for a memorable meal.

Main Course: Old Delhi Butter Chicken Move on to the star of the show –This dish is a masterpiece of creamy, tomatoey goodness, featuring succulent chicken served with fragrant Pulao Rice and a rich, Creamy Black Lentil to share. It’s comfort food at its finest, guaranteed to leave you satisfied and smiling.

Dobson & Parnell: Elegance on the Quayside

For those who appreciate refined dining, Dobson & Parnell on the Quayside offers an exquisite three-course lunch for £25, or a two-course dinner for the same price.

Starter: Smoked Salmon - The delicate flavours are perfectly balanced with a zesty lemon dressing and creamy creme fraiche, creating a refreshing and sophisticated start.

Main Course: Dirty Dobson's Buttermilk Fried Chicken - Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavour, it’s complemented by a zesty garlic sauce, crunchy pickles, and refreshing slaw. It’s a dish that’s both indulgent and satisfying.

Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding - Rich and decadent, it’s drizzled with salted caramel and paired with creamy vanilla ice cream. It’s a classic dessert done to perfection.

Earl of Pitt Street: A Fusion Feast

The Earl of Pitt Street offers a delightful blend of international flavours. Enjoy two courses for £20 or three for £25.

Starter: Korean BBQ Style Beef Skewer - Tender beef, perfectly marinated and grilled, served with a flavourful black bean aioli and topped with sesame seeds. It’s a tantalizing taste of the East.

Main Course: Gnocchi Lamb Ragu - This dish combines soft, pillowy gnocchi with a rich lamb ragu, finished with fresh herbs and Parmesan shavings. It’s hearty, comforting, and utterly delicious.

Dessert: Lemon Tart - The zesty lemon filling, creamy Chantilly, and tangy raspberry coulis make for a perfect balance of flavors – a refreshing end to your meal.

Fuego in Fenwick: Tapas and More

Fuego offers a selection of tempting tapas and more, with options like three tapas for £15 or a combination of pizza and dessert for the same price.
