Make the Most of Screen on the Green

Whether you’re catching one of our Toddler Takeover screenings or enjoying one of Tyneside Cinema’s handpicked programme, Screen on the Green is the place to be this Summer in the City.

And that’s not to mention Tiny Toon and Play Rebellion!

Old Eldon Square really comes alive this season, so if you want to explore even more of all it has to offer, why not check out some of these brilliant businesses that are lucky enough to call it home.

Leigh Hetherington Bridal Wear

Since being founded in 2001 in Newcastle, Leigh Hetherington’s exquisite craftsmanship has been a firm-favourite amongst brides-to-be, so if you’re tying the knot soon, paying a trip to the boutique is a no-brainer -  but be sure to book ahead!

The Wobbly Duck

“Quackers for craft beer”, The Wobbly Duck is the ideal spot for a pint come rain or shine. This Old Eldon Square local offers up a fantastic range of real ales and craft beer – with quality and fresh experiences always a priority – so your pint will absolutely fit the bill

Friday Vintage

Offering up a curated edit from owner Laura Jackson, Friday Vintage joined Newcastle’s impressive roster of vintage stores back in 2023 – and we’ve been obsessed ever since! Here, you’ll find clothing and accessories ranging from the 1950s to the 1990s, with a particular soft spot for the ‘70s, and who can blame them?!

Bodyroll Studio Newcastle

Okay, so your lymphatic system might not be the first thing you think of when you roll out of bed in the morning – but it’s actually super important. That’s where Bodyroll at Old Eldon Square can help, with their 45-minute lymphatic drain massage sessions designed to help relieve muscle tension, improve joints, improve circulation and much more – perfect for pre-deck chair lounging.

Wagamama

Whether you’re a Katsu curry aficionado – or simply love their green tea – Wagamama’s is an Old Eldon Green staple. Head over there for a delicious bite to eat, or grab a pickup order to enjoy in the comfort of Sceen on the Green’s deckchairs while enjoying your film.

Nandos

From wings to wraps, there’s always plenty to love about a trip to Nando’s. And with views overlooking the Green, it’s the ideal place to watch the world go by. Anyone else’s stomach rumbling…?

Starbucks

Fuel up for the film ahead with a coffee from Starbucks. Come rain or shine, this handy location also offers plenty of food options too – perfect for parents needing a pick-me-up before heading to Tiny Toon or Play Rebellion!

Old Eldon Jewellers

Old Eldon Jewellers first opened their doors back in 1999, remaining at the heart of the Green ever since. This award-winning, family-run business has been showcasing its excellent craftsmanship with carefully designed, bespoke pieces that’re worthy of a celebration.

As you can see, there's no shortage of things to do in Old Eldon Square this summer, so why not make a day of it!
