NE1’s Summer in the City makes it way more fun with a jam-packed programme of sporty classes down by Newcastle’s gorgeous Quayside.
Working up a sweat has never been easier!
If you’re after a serotonin-boosting workout, Pure Gym’s H.E.A.T. classes are ideal! These High Energy Athletic Training sessions are perfect for newbies and seasoned fitness fans alike – so grab your mates and head on down!
Monday 22nd July – Monday 26th August, classes are free, but tickets must be reserved.
Prefer something a bit more low-key? Pure Gym’s pilates classes are the perfect choice this Summer in the City season. Mixing low-impact exercises, stretches and breathwork, it’s great for a moment of mindfulness too.

There’s nothing to get calories burning like a classic Zumba workout – and Pure Gym’s running some fantastic sessions this Summer in the City. Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves ensures that these classes put the fun back into fitness.

Get into the flow with Vinyasa yoga classes, running throughout Summer in the City with morning, afternoon and evening sessions! We’ve teamed up with the expert yogis at Yoga X Life to run these classes, where you’ll learn all about Vinyasa – a style of yoga that connects poses and breathwork to help improve flexibility and reduce stress.
Wednesday 24th July – Saturday 31st August, classes are free, but tickets must be reserved.
Alternatively, why not recharge and reset with a Family Yoga Class? Ran by Yoga X Life’s fantastically talented yogis, these chill Sunday sessions are the perfect way to get everyone outside and moving this summer, by combining breathwork, postures and yoga games.
