International beauty brand Sephora is set to open a brand-new store in Newcastle's Eldon Square this weekend. As one of just a handful of Sephora stores in the UK, it's a pretty big deal and they're going all out for the grand opening.
With fantastic giveaways and the opportunity to sleep overnight in Eldon Square for shoppers who want to be first in line, Sephora's Newcastle launch is set to be epic - read on for everything you'll need to know if you plan on attending.
When is Sephora's grand opening?
Sephora officially opens its doors in Eldon Square on Friday 13th September at 9:13am but there's lots happening that whole weekend to celebrate its arrival in Newcastle.
Where is Sephora's Eldon Square store located?
The store is located opposite New Look and sandwiched in between Monki and Schuh.
What's this about sleeping in Eldon Square overnight before the grand opening?
For any Sephora fans keen to get first in line, Eldon Square is inviting people to sleep in the shopping centre on the evenings of Thursday 12th September and Friday 13th September. Yes, you read that right - a Sephora sleepover!
If that sounds like something you want to get in on, Eldon Square's Northumberland Street entrance will be open for sleepover guests from 9pm where they'll be given a numbered ticket which confirms their place in the queue - so don't lose it!
Please note that bag checks will take place on arrival and that all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
What can/can't I bring if staying overnight at Eldon Square?
You can bring your own food and drink into Eldon Square (fear not, toilets will be accessible!) but other things are not permitted - knives, sharp objects, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and electronic cigarettes included.
It’s also worth noting that the standard visitor code of conduct and rules for Eldon Square will still apply overnight. You can read them here.
Can I leave the centre and return to my place in the queue?
Nope, sorry! Once you're in the queue, you're in it for the long haul and won't be able to reclaim your spot if you leave Eldon Square.
What time will Eldon Square re-open?
On Friday 13th September, Eldon Square will re-open from 6am with Sephora openings its doors at 9:13am. Other Eldon Square retailers will be opening as normal from 9am to 7pm, though restaurants will be staying open later than usual.
The following day, Saturday 14th September, Eldon Square will again open at 6am and Sephora will be open from 9am.
As there's no Sephora sleep-in happening on the Saturday evening, the Eldon Square team get a bit of a lie-in on Sunday 15th September with the shopping centre opening at 8am and Sephora open from 11am.
What is happening during Sephora's opening weekend?
During the grand opening on Friday 13th September, the Sephora team will hand out wristbands to the first 500 people in the queue which nabs them each a goody bag - what a treat, eh?
There’ll be plenty of celebrations throughout Sephora’s big opening weekend too. From Friday to Sunday, there'll be entertainment and live music at Eldon Square and Sephora will be hosting giveaways and handing out samples to shoppers lucky enough to be first in line.
