The festive season is right around the corner, and we don’t know about you but there’s something about Christmas that just makes us feel kind of crafty.

If you fancy trying your hand at making your own decorations and gifts or mastering the art of cooking up tasty festive food, then read on because we’ve rounded up some of the best craft and cookery workshops to keep you crafting throughout Christmas and beyond!

Christmas Cricut™ Crafts @ John Lewis

John Lewis are embracing the Cricut™ craze this Christmas with a series of fun masterclasses that’ll have you crafting gifts left, right and centre. Learn how to make a Christmas mug, a personalized cushion, a ceramic tree decoration or a personalized gift bag – all Cricut™ materials are included and you get to take home whatever you create. The masterclasses are suitable for kids aged eight and over, so they’re a great festive treat for little ones too! The events are exclusive to My John Lewis members though, so join here if you haven't already.

Winter Miniatures Course @ Newcastle Arts Centre

Sculpt your own miniature winter diorama with this four-part evening course at Newcastle Arts Centre. Led by sculptor and model-maker Jed Buttress, you’ll use a range of materials including clay, wood and resin to craft a series of charming mini structures with wintery effects. Perfect for giving your Christmas decorations a personal touch this year!

Festive Wreath Making & Home Alone Screening @ Revolucion de Cuba

Wreath making workshops are all the rage come Christmas and Revolucion de Cuba are hosting an event with a difference. Not only do you get to create your very own festive wreath – you’ll also enjoy a screening of the classic Christmas film Home Alone! Tickets include a glass of prosecco on arrival and unlimited popcorn throughout because crafting is hungry work.

Under the guidance of artist and maker Lindsey Stevenson, you’ll get tips in the art of needle felting and create a cute Christmas critter to take home. No experience is needed, all materials are provided and your ticket includes a glass of fizz, mulled wine, beer or a soft drink too. Lush!
