And luckily for us, plenty of them have lunchtime deals on offer too. So no matter what cuisine you’re craving, who you’re headed there with, or what budget you’re sticking to, these offers are worth getting a bite of!
Kaltur, Dean Street & High Bridge
Wine bar and restaurant Kaltur is all about deliciously authentic Spanish food and its Dean Street branch serves a tempting tapas lunch menu everyday until 4pm. Guests get a choice of two tapas dishes from a smaller menu for £15, two dishes from the full menu for £20 or three for £25. And with everything from patatas bravas to Iberico ham croquettes to pick from, what’s not to love!
Lui’s, King Street
Down towards the Quayside now, where you’ll find Lui’s dishing up mouth-watering Italian cuisine on King Street. Their lunch menu offers loads of mouth-watering meals including gamberetti, spiced aubergine, and homemade traditional tiramisu – with one course for £15, two for £20 or three for £25.

Dabbawal, High Bridge
“Home-cooked, nutritious dishes that feed the body, and comfort the soul” are at the heart of every Dabbawal menu – and that includes their fantastic lunchtime offer! Here, you’ll enjoy two courses for just £16, so whether you start with a sweet potato chaat and follow with some pan-fried seabass or dig into some seekh kebab kybria before old Delhi-style butter chicken, you’re guaranteed to enjoy some good grub without breaking the bank!
The Alchemist, Eldon Square
Vibrant flavours and nourishing ingredients can be found in every bowl from The Alchemist’s lunchtime deal! Lovers of the theatrical venue won’t be disappointed by their On a Bowl (see what they did there?!) discount, offering diners their choice of a rice bowl and soft drink for £15. There’s a couple of mocktail upgrade options if you’re after something a little fancier – but still have to go back to the office! – and some delicious sides available too.

The Botanist, Monument Mall
You probably already recognise The Botanist for their incredible botanical interiors and those legendary hanging kebabs – but did you know about their budget-friendly lunches too? Dine overlooking Grey’s Monument on their £7.95 offer, which includes a lighter version of their famous kebabs, served with pitta, salad and humous. Plus, there’s veggie and vegan options available, like their vegan kofta pitta and crispy halloumi pitta. Delicious!
FED’s Fried Chicken, Grainger Market
Beloved by the whole of Newcastle, there’s no shortage of lunchtime venues in Grainger Market… which makes picking one pretty difficult! This time around, we’re recommending FED’s Fried Chicken, the bright orange venue down Alley 2 offering loads of sandwiches, fries, sides and of course, fried chicken! Their Box It Off deal includes any sarnie, FED’s seasoned fries, chicken tender, dip pot, gravy/slaw and can of pop for £15 – ideal for fuelling up before a long afternoon!

Hula Co, Side
Bringing a taste of the tropics to Toon, Hula Co is all about unique Hawaiian flavours – a fusion of Asian, Latin American and Portuguese influences that you can’t really find anywhere else. If you fancy giving them a go, their lunchtime deal is the perfect place to start, including one of their lunch dishes and a drink for £8. And with poke bowls, tacos and more to pick from, we won’t blame you for going back just to try the whole menu!
Khai Khai, Queen Street
If you’ve got more time to kill, or you’re looking for a more indulgent lunchtime offer, then we’d definitely recommend taking a look at Khai Khai. Their dishes are cooked by natural flame, infusing every bite with a hint of smokiness that really gets those tastebuds working! At lunchtimes, their £20 menu treats diners to a small plate, heritage dish and steamed rice, plain naan or black lentils. That’s not forgetting that there’s loads of dietary-friendly options as well, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free.

The French Quarter, Westgate Road
Or, for French dining without the fuss, why not head to The French Quarter? The small but mighty venue expertly balances quality and value – a mission that shines through their lunch offer! Here, you can dine on two courses for £20.95 or three courses for £25.95, with a regularly refreshed menu, but you can be certain that there’ll always be some classic French dishes on there! Their bistro-style lunch is available from Tuesday to Friday, so it’s ideal if you need to impress that certain client with a fancier lunch meeting, or just want to treat yourself on payday.
Firestone Artisan Pizza, Haymarket
Hidden Haymarket gem Firestone Artisan Pizza also has an offer that you’ll definitely want to get a slice of! Ideal for lunchtime diners that don’t have the luxury of time to enjoy a sit-down meal, there’s two offers both under a tenner to make the most of. Grab a slice of their delicious pizza, fries or cookie, dip and drink for £7.50 – or add another slice to the order for £9.50 instead. Sounds delizioso!
