SUPERNATURAL CAFÉ
It’s all in the name with this one – Supernatural Café really is a seriously super place to break bread. Everything on the menu is suitable for vegans, from crispy jacket potatoes to salads and sarnies. We’ve got our eye on the vegan Full English, a lusciously-laden plate of breakfast treats. If you’re visiting a little later in the day, the café also has a fully stocked wine and beer menu, so it’s a great shout for that special meal out too. See you there!

TYNESIDE CINEMA CAFÉ
Thought the Tyneside was just for films? Well think again: a quick look at their extensive menus shows they’re quite the foodie favourites too. There’s so much to choose from, and it makes the perfect spot for elevenses. The spiced scrambled tofu is packed with flavour and has a warming kick to it too – ideal for those autumn morning jaunts into town! Don’t forget a portion of vegan chocolate mousse to satisfy that sweet tooth.

THE SHIP INN
Head to the Ship Inn for the daddy of all vegan Sunday dinners. A hearty helping of veg including beets and warming butternut squash compliment a peanut and walnut roast that will have even the most carnivorous customers’ mouths watering. Don’t forget a splash of vegan gravy and a mound of mashed potato. Our mouths are watering just thinking about this feast! The perfect way to recharge after a wander round the always-lovely Ouseburn valley.

TEA SUTRA
Relax high above the city in this quirky little café where all the food is vegan. Whether you’re after a flavoursome panini or wrap, or a sweet treat and a cuppa, they’ve got it covered. With the food made fresh on the premises, you have to be speedy to grab a full meal here, as the kitchen is only open from 12-3pm. We reckon it’s well worth making the time to fit in a visit though – the relaxing interior with its comfy cushions and pillows will have you—and your tummy—feeling fab in no time.
