Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea @ Laing Art Gallery
For Afternoon Tea with a difference, head to the Laing Art Gallery! They’ll be serving up some delicious delicacies in their stunning café, surrounded by some incredible artwork. And with a sandwich selection, cakes, scones and tea on the cards – stomachs are sure to be rumbling! Plus, for a few extra quid, you can even treat mam to a glass of prosecco to wash it all down with – and the woman of the hour will receive a complimentary small bouquet of flowers. There’s even a vegan option too, so no-one has to miss out.

Beloved indie cinema Tyneside never miss an occasion, so of course they’re hosting some special Mother’s Day screenings! Based on Helen Fielding’s bestselling novel, Circle tickets to this heartwarming series sequel not only promise a great view of the big screen, but also include popcorn and prosecco too! Mother's Day Hand Embroidery Workshop @ Revolucion de Cuba
If crafting and cocktails sounds like your mam’s cup of tea, then Revolucion de Cuba is the place to be! They’ve joined forces with The Canny Haberdashery for Mother’s Day, offering a hand embroidery session where guests can create their own design, or use a guidance sample. There’ll even be two for £12 cocktails available throughout the day, the ideal reward for all your hard haberdashery handiwork!

Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch @ The Vermont Hotel
One thing about The Vermont Hotel is that they know how to do a Sunday Roast, so if you’re thinking about treating mam to one, then why not book a table in their stunning restaurant? You’ll enjoy three courses – with a complimentary drink for the lady of the hour of course! – and there’s also a menu option for kids under ten, so the whole family can come along. Tables are available between 12pm-8pm, making this an ideal addition to any activities you’ve already got planned.

Mother’s Day Screening of Mamma Mia @ Everyman Cinema
Mam will be feeling like a Dancing Queen in the aisles at Everyman Cinema this Mother’s Day with their screening of Mamma Mia! This upbeat classic is playing as part of Everyman’s “Throwback” season, so each ticket comes with some complimentary popcorn and a drink too. Jam-packed with all the ABBA classics you know and love, this Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried-starring pic promises to put a smile on any mam’s face.

Mother’s Day Temperance Tea Party @ Prohibition
Special events at Prohibition are always that little bit more special than most places, and their Mother’s Day Temperance Tea Party will be no exception. Hosted by cabaret star Hildy Harland, you’ll be offered cakes, sandwiches, tea and some excellent live entertainment from Hildy herself, who’ll be singing as you sup. Entry is just £8, a full ticket including the afternoon tea is £22 per person and for £25 per person there’s a glass of fizz on arrival too. The shebang runs from 2pm 'til 5pm and there will be vegan and GF options too so nobody need feel left out.

Mother’s Day Menu @ Prima Ristorante
Why not treat mam to a delicious Italian meal at Prima Ristorante? This lovely lot have two courses for £30 per person, or three for £35, and dishes include the likes of pan-fried scallops, wild mushroom risotto and pistachio tiramisu. A complimentary amuse bouche is included and there’s even a Mother’s Day gift on offer for guests who pre-book too!

Afternoon tea in Fenwick always feels like a bit of a treat, and is bound to be doubly true on Mother’s Day inside their in-house tea room FRED’s. For £25 per person, they’ll be offered the hot drink of their choice plus a selection of finger sandwiches, handmade patisserie from the magnificent in-house bakers and a lovely atmosphere. For £35 per person you can make it a sparkling afternoon tea with a glass of fizz.
