TYNESIDE BAR’S BEER SUCCESS…

A Tyneside bar and restaurant has seen its own special beer become one of its must successful drinks. Pacific House at Northumberland Road, Newcastle has been offering its Pacific House Best Bitter along with a selection of real ales for the past few months and it has become a huge hit with customers. The Pacific House Best Bitter is a 3.8 per cent golden session beer, brewed exclusively for the bar by the award-winning Wylam Brewery. And owner Harry Vaulkhard says it has become extremely popular in a very short space of time. “We wanted to have our own beer and we already stock Wylam’s Gold Tankard beer,” he said. “And sowe approached them and asked them to produce a beer specifically for us.” Su Kay, sales manager at Wylam Brewery, said the company didn’t often produce bespoke ales for clients because they were so busy creating their other ranges. “We rarely have space in the conditioning tanks to accommodate other beers but we met with the people at Pacific House and they were so enthusiastic that we decided to work together and produce this beer specifically for them,” she said. “And we’re absolutely delighted that it has become so popular.” The Pacific House Best Bitter is available at £1.95.
