Newcastle City Set to Glow Again with Spectacular Light Show, Northern Lights

Northern Lights, the enchanted light trail that lit up the iconic Leazes Park last winter, is thrilled to announce its return to Newcastle with brand-new illuminations, magical zones, and an epic festive food village.

Their first year saw a whopping 100,000 visitors attend the stunning after-dark attraction, with many dates sold out well in advance. Northern Lights is set to return with a completely reimagined route, comprising 12 – 15 new illuminations, and magical zones with special effects. Visitors can expect a truly jaw-dropping journey through the Victorian park, while enjoying several cosy pit stops along the way, popular vintage fairground rides and an even larger Christmas Village, brimming with artisan food and drink, from 22nd November 2024 until 31st December 2024.

After a sell-out first year in 2023, demand for tickets this year is expected to be extremely high, so Northern Lights are advising visitors to secure tickets early to avoid disappointment. They have also introduced more ticket offers and discount codes for early birds, which can be accessed by signing up ahead of tickets released in June.

Roxy Robinson, Creative Director at From the Fields says: "It’s a privilege to return to the city of Newcastle with our second edition of Northern Lights. Our followers in the region have welcomed us with such warmth and support, we are thrilled to bring them together at Northern Lights once again. Since January we've been working hard on completely reimagining our trail for 2024, and we have some seriously exciting zones to unveil. Our whole team is looking forward to giving visitors a completely unique and unforgettable experience.

The breathtaking festival of light in the heart of Newcastle’s oldest park includes original audio compositions, dynamic choreography, and intelligent design to create a 90-minute magical experience for the whole family to enjoy. The fully accessible, mile-long route will see the new epic illuminations light up Leazes Park, along with a Christmas Village filled to the brim with delicious festive food and drinks by local artisans.

Northern Lights Newcastle is led by the company behind multi award-winning Bluedot, Kendal Calling and Christmas at Bute Park. The light show will once again be produced by a combination of local and national talent, including creators of headline installations for Kew Gardens, Netflix, and Glastonbury, so visitors can expect a host of mind-blowing features and special effects from the UK’s leading trail creators!
