Sephora UK Celebrates North East Opening Night with Prestigious VIP Launch Event
The movers and shakers of Newcastle joined the evening celebration at city centre’s sleek rooftop bar ABOVE took place to celebrate the debut of SEPHORA’s North East takeover with not one, but two new stores in Newcastle's Eldon Square and Gateshead’s Metrocentre.
After the hugely successful store opening in Manchester this Spring, Sephora UK is continuing to drive their physical retail offering in the North East by adding two new stores in two of Newcastle's most iconic shopping destinations – Newcastle’s Eldon Square and Gateshead’s Metrocentre.
On the eve of the grand opening, the beauty retailer hosted an exclusive launch party at ABOVE Rooftop, which welcomed a stellar lineup of guests including MP Chi Onwurah, Lioness and Newcastle United Women Defender Demi Stokes, Newcastle United Women players Elysia Boddy, Shania Hayles, Lia Cataldo, Rachel Furness, Emma Kelly, Grace Donnelley as well as Ru Paul’s Drag Race contestant Choriza May and Drag Queens Risqué and Sally Trademark. Sephora Europe and Middle East President, Sylvie Moreau, and Managing Director of Sephora UK, Sarah Boyd were also in attendance with a speech from Boyd.
Deeply rooted in supporting and celebrating the local community, Sephora UK worked with an incredible mix of Newcastle talent at the launch party, with live musical performances from season 12 winners of The UK Voice, HUNNI, DJ Ellie Scougall and the Northern Proud Voices Choir.
Specially curated areas on the rooftop bar floor were installed to mirror the incredible beauty offering offered to customers in store. Makeovers and beauty treatments were on hand for guests to enjoy throughout the evening including lip care prep with the new limited edition only at Sephora Kissu Lip Mask in Sunset Kiku from Tatcha, followed by experiencing the newest lip product from Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain, makeup touch ups by Makeup by Mario, and hair styling by Gisou.
On the 13th September at 9:13am, Sephora will officially open their doors in Eldon Square and the Metrocentre after much anticipation from beauty lovers in the region. The opening time reflects the stores’ Friday 13th opening date, reframing this superstition and making it the North East’s lucky day - particularly for the first five hundred customers in each store, who will receive a complimentary gift bag jam packed with high value goodies. Based on the hugely successful and popular store openings in London and Manchester, the brand anticipates overnight queues of beauty obsessed fans at both Eldon and Metrocentre. Lucky beauty enthusiasts can also be in with a chance of getting their hands on a gift bag throughout opening week, as the store will be giving away complimentary goodie bags until Sunday every day for the first 100 customers.
The success of Sephora UK is largely due to the brand’s commitment to retail innovation by creating unique and diverse retail experiences that the stores’ “beauty playgrounds” bring to customers, which are rooted in discovery, community, entertainment, and enchantment. Delivering global and exclusive brands that are currently unavailable to purchase within the region, Sephora is set to revolutionise the beauty offering within the North East by becoming a haven for beauty lovers seeking varied and inclusive curations, expert in-store guidance, a world-class beauty services offering, and a deep sense of community.
