Party in Private at Leila Lily's

One of Newcastle’s most opulent venues is opening up an exclusive event space for anyone planning to host a buffet or drinks party in the run up to Christmas.

Leila Lily’s, at Grey Street – renowned for its AA-rosetted restaurant and bar – is also home to the Eva Rose private hire dining and function room, which is an ideal setting for everything from family celebrations and parties, to corporate lunches and events.

And now Leila Lily’s chefs have created festive buffet and canapés menus, designed to appeal to anyone looking to bring family, friends, colleague or clients together for a celebration in Eva Rose.

The buffet menu is available for parties of 15 guests or more and comprises brioche sliders and sandwiches, with fillings such pulled ham hock and cranberry sauce, smoked salmon and crème fraiche, mature Cheddar and spiced mayonnaise and cucumber with basil and cream cheese.

There is also a selection of hot and cold dishes such as mini Yorkshire puddings filled with roast turkey and gravy, roast potatoes with garlic and thyme, a selection of Indian appetisers with house chutney, breaded prawns and mango sauce, pigs in blankets, mac’n’cheese bites and tomato and feta salad.

And for those with a sweet tooth, mince pies and festive brownie bites complete the buffet.

There is also a canapé menu, which is ideally served at a drinks party or as appetisers prior to the main buffet and that is available for a minimum of 10 guests.

Canapés include smoked salmon tarts with lemon and dill cream cheese and caper berries, mini duck spring rolls with cherry gel and mini festive Yorkshire puddings filled with pulled turkey and topped with a stuffing crumble.

There are nachos with grilled pepper hummus, avocado wraps, smoked goats cheese puffs with caramelised red onions, crispy prawns and tomato bruschetta and gluten free and vegan alternatives are available on request if pre-ordered..

And, to ensure every party and celebration goes with a swing, the bar team at Leila Lily’s has devised a trio of festive cocktails.

The Choc Orange Martini is blend of Smirnoff Vanilla vodka, Crème de Cacao Blanc, Mouse Kingdom Quad Sec, orange and foaming bitters while the Festive Apple Fizz comprises Smirnoff Red Vodka, elderflower, lemon, honey and Inches cider.

Finally, the Bah Humbug Hiball is a mixture of Tanqueray Gin, Pimm’s, cranberry, lime, sugar and Angostura bitters.

Eva Rose – owned by Malhotra Group plc - in the lower ground floor beneath Leila Lily’s, incorporates a bar that can hold up to 60 guests, a dining area that can accommodate up to 18 people and there is also a DJ sound booth and stage.

The buffet menu is priced at £25 pp and the canapés menu at £18 pp, while the cocktails are £9.50 each or two for £15. For further information visit https://leilalilys.co.uk/our-venue
