Mother Mercy Unveils New Cocktail Bar in Fenwick Newcastle
Mother Mercy, acclaimed as one of the Top 50 Cocktail Bars in the UK, announces the opening of its new cocktail bar within Fenwick Newcastle
Lauded for its exceptional cocktail creations made with innovative ingredients—including rare and vintage spirits, exotic botanicals, and handcrafted infusions - Mother Mercy will offer a bespoke selection from its menu exclusive to Fenwick shoppers, enhancing the luxury retail experience.
Located adjacent to Mulberry and COS on Level 1 (Womenswear), the new bar extends Mother Mercy's successful presence within the iconic store, following its successful pop-up on the Lower Ground Floor since December 2022.
Guests are invited to pull up a seat at the signature pink bar, featuring plush velvet stools, and an aesthetic that embodies Mother Mercy’s brand signature palette of soft pink hues. The design reflects the brand’s playful sophistication, seamlessly blending elegance with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Seating is available around the bar, along with additional tables for guests to relax and enjoy.
Since launching its original basement bar on Cloth Market in 2019, Mother Mercy now has four permanent venues across the North East—Fenwick Newcastle, Cloth Market, Café Mercy on Grey Street, and Sheepfolds Stables in Sunderland.
Those who visit Mother Mercy Fenwick can look forward to an exclusive menu of handcrafted cocktails inspired by seasonal ingredients and innovative flavour combinations.

- A selection of Champagne Cocktails made with the stunning Champagne Telmont Reserve Brut
- A Rare & Vintage Collection of liquids from Mother Mercy’s private collection, (once they’re gone, they will be gone forever)
- The world-famous Macallan spirit served in wonderful, exclusive Lalique crystal glassware
- Mother Mercy classic cocktails
- A selection of wine, beer, cider, spirits and soft drinks
In addition to its signature cocktails, Mother Mercy Fenwick offers a distinctive take on afternoon tea with 'Cocktails and Cake'. This experience pairs free-flowing teapots of cocktails (inspired by tea and punch), with a serving of prosecco, and a selection of delicate cakes from Mason + Rye at Fenwick. Available exclusively by reservation, 'Cocktails and Cake' is served between Monday - Friday 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm and Sunday 11:00 am - 3:00 pm and is priced at £25 per person, for 90 minutes, with a minimum of 2 people required to share.

Mother Mercy established its original cocktail bar on Cloth Market in 2019, offering table service for intimate date nights in its basement location beneath the city's bustle. In 2022, Mother Mercy earned the prestigious accolade of being named among the Top 50 Cocktail Bars—a definitive list of where to drink in the UK—marking the only cocktail bar in Newcastle to earn this recognition.
In 2023, Mother Mercy introduced its sister venue, Café Mercy, a Mediterranean-themed cocktail bar on Grey Street, and earlier this year, opened its first venue outside of Newcastle—Mother Mercy Cabin at Sheepfolds Stables in Sunderland.
