Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair

Curators of ‘Vintage at Goodwood,’ ‘Vintage at the Southbank’ and Britain’s biggest vintage fair, Judy’s return to Newcastle this February. The UK’s largest travelling vintage marketplace, Judy’s returns to Newcastle this season, with over 35 leading vintage traders setting up shop at Northumbria Student’s Union. In traditional Judy’s style, traders will be bringing some stunning new season stock, bargain rails and special offers. Founded in 2005, the formula behind Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair is a simple one; exasperated with rising high street prices and vintage costing an arm and a leg, Judy set out to create a fair that was equally affordable as it was eclectic; handpicking traders from the four corners of the UK, every event culminates in a vibrant vintage marketplace with over sixty years of stock to knock your socks off. Eight years on, the vintage trend remains strong; vintage-inspired designs from the fifties and seventies litter the high street, polo necks and heritage items populated runways at Mulberry, Burberry and Issa – even Kate Moss, a woman synonymous with Topshop, sported a wedding dress twenties in theme. Bringing an alternative to expensive replicas to 30 cities nationwide, Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair offers up the chance to buy genuine pieces of the past [minus the hefty price tags;] fashion through to furniture, accessories and crafts, haberdashery and an antique or two – all affordable, all one-of-a-kind and all waiting to be worn again. Founder of the fairs and former Selfridges personal shopper Judy Berger admits that a return to Newcastle is a highlight in the 2014 calendar; “with such a variety of different styles within the city and a prevailing vintage scene throughout, a return to Newcastle was a no-brainer.” With over 1000 shoppers attending our last event, a love of all things old-world certainly rings true; “we always have such a wonderful turn-out in Newcastle,” Judy adds, “with families, fashion fans and students alike all looking for that perfect piece of the past to take away with them.” If that wasn’t enough the Judy HQ team will be snapping Newcastle’s most stylish shoppers and Ruby’s Tea Party will be providing lashings of tea and cake. Newcastle’s Affordable Vintage Fair Sunday February 16th 2014 Northumbria Student’s Union, 2 Sandyford Road, Newcastle, NE1 8SB Open: 12:00pm – 5:00pm Entry: £2 – Under 12’s free
