Haircut 100 Come Back to Newcastle 40 Years On
Following unprecedented public demand, Haircut 100 are back with their first UK tour in over 40 years*, and they’ve chosen to come back to Newcastle, four-decades since they last played the big city. Hot on the heels of their Pelican West 40th anniversary shows in London and Oxford in May this year (which sold out in less than 20 minutes), the band wow fans with the announcement that they’ll be taking to the road again, handpicking Newcastle as one of their stops, on 12 October. Haircut 100% Live is a 15 date UK tour throughout October and November.
“We last played Newcastle on 5 March, 1982, and it was one of the best live experiences of our lives,” smiles Nick Heyward.
“We wanted to make sure that Newcastle was on the schedule for this new Haircut 100 tour so that we could bring that Haircut joy back to Newcastle again. This is going to be such a special tour for us, we’re all back together again, and although it’s over 40 years on, we’re still bursting with that Haircut 100 joyous spirit that fans love us for. It’s been a while, but we hope to see some of the faces that were there with when we last played the city. Newcastle here we come, we can’t wait!”
Bringing the past 40 years whizzing into the present day, the Haircut 100 boys will come together to fuse the sounds of the original Pelican West album, along with their classic 80s hits, as well as new music from the band. These shows will be an unforgettable Haircut 100 live experience that fans won’t want to miss.
