For the First Time, British Fashion Council Expands its City Wide Celebration to Newcastle in Celebration of 40 Years of London Fashion Week Presented by 1664 Blanc

For the first time, the British Fashion Council (BFC) expands its consumer facing City Wide Celebration programme to Newcastle and Manchester in celebration of 40 years of London Fashion Week presented by 1664 Blanc. The City Wide Celebration is a curated programme of over 1,000 events by 400 participating brands open to the public in London, Newcastle and Manchester throughout September, spearheaded by inclusivity and consciousness, moving the fashion conversation forward through industry wide participation and partnerships.

Fenwick, Britain's Family of Style Pioneers since 1882, is proud to support the British Fashion Council's expanded City Wide Celebration, bringing the spirit of London Fashion Week to Newcastle. Discover the Barbour x Alexa Chung Collection Edit, featuring fresh takes on classic outerwear and Chung's first, and most personal, collection as Creative Director. Shoppers can also celebrate GANT's 75th anniversary with their much-anticipated Autumn/Winter 24 collection, blending preppy classics with workwear-inspired pieces.

Fenwick Newcastle will come alive with exclusive events and activations to highlight City Wide Celebrations. From September 12 to 25, visit Fenwick Newcastle store to experience "The Department of Taste”, featuring Edible Emeralds – a unique, literal taste experience that turns luxury on its head. This free experience celebrates the idea that taste is unique to everyone.

Visitors can also indulge their foodie side at Fenwick Newcastle’s latest restaurant openings. Get to know FRED's – a French-inspired take on the Terrace Tea Room, opened in Newcastle by Fred Fenwick in 1911, for post-shopping champagne and one of their signature "supreme" filled croissants.

Caroline Rush CBE, Chief Executive, British Fashion Council said: “As we celebrate 40 years of London Fashion Week presented by 1664 Blanc, we are very excited to extend our LFW City Wide Celebration across the UK for the first time. BFC is committed to supporting retail and our brilliant network of designer businesses not only in London but across the UK and we are really looking forward to witnessing Manchester and Newcastle come to life with their own programme of events throughout September. LFW has continually been a pioneer when it comes to opening up its doors and inviting consumers to participate, enabling brands and businesses to connect to customers through cultural moments and events is core to its impact. Our principal partner 1664 Blanc has enabled us to extend this even further by opening up LFW all year with their fantastic lineup of events.”

Location: The Department of Taste | Fenwick, 39 Northumberland St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7AS
Date: Thursday 12th September – Wednesday 25th September
