The summer school experience, for August 2024, is not just an opportunity to refine your drama, singing, and dance skills, but also a chance to be part of a full-scale production of this classic musical.

Directed by David Ducasse, who recently revived the pop band Scooch and led a successful Eurovision campaign with EasyJet. Ducasse brings his wealth of experience from representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest. His unique insights and vibrant personality will undoubtedly bring a fresh perspective to this staging of the classic orphan tale. Joining him as Children’s Director and Choreographer is Benjamin Mundy, a West End veteran of over 500 performances in 'Annie', covering various roles and as Dance Captain. Mundy is super excited to mentor the next generation of performers ahead of his next venture as Resident Director and Resident Choreographer for Stephen Mear’s production of ‘Hello Dolly’ in Paris.

Over two intense weeks, participants aged 7-18 will train under these industry pros, honing their skills in drama, dance and singing. The experience culminates in a fully staged production at Playhouse Whitley Bay from 28th - 31st August. The summer school will last three weeks, with roles available for junior children (ages 7-13), senior children (ages 15-18), and adult performers. For those unable to attend the initial auditions, Astravaganza Entertainment will also be accepting video submissions.

Producer Liam Glendinning is immensely excited, saying, "This is an incredible chance to be part of an unforgettable theatrical experience! We can't wait to bring 'Annie' to the North East."
