Newcastle Pride
NE1 is proud to support Newcastle Pride, the North East’s biggest celebration of the region’s LGBTQ+ community organised annually by locally based charity Northern Pride

Newcastle Pride kicks off each year with a huge march in the city centre that winds its way down Northumberland Street, passing the iconic Grey’s Monument along the way, as Newcastle became awash with colours of the rainbow. The Pride march was attended by over 16,500 people in 2024, all showing up in support of both the city and the wider region’s LGBTQ+ community.
Post-march, the Pride festivities continue in the city centre with a Market Village, different zones offering entertainment, services and advice around health and wellbeing, families and young people and the like and the Pride Arena at Times Square featuring performances from local and big-name acts before the festival comes to a close with the annual Candlelit Vigil, a time for reflection and remembrance.
Newcastle Pride will return in summer 2025. To keep up to date with this year's festival, visit the Northern Pride website.
